Lucy Wairimu Macharia and Jenipher Njeri Mwangi joined SISDO Microfiance in the 2010 which is a period of 8 years. Big Safaris started as a taxi business in 2008 and later in 2010 after being visited by an officer from SISDO in their GPO office, they decided to consult with some of their friends and later registered their group name as CAXTON WOMEN SHG.
The reason why they decided to join the Micro enterprise is because they wanted quick money to help them expand their business into a travel agency, not only in Nairobi but EAST AFRICA as well.
They later decided to save for at least for six months before applying for their first loans, which helped them buy office equipments and also improve on their business which expanded into travelling agency. They later serviced at least six loans each enabling them acquire more vehicles and this also gave them the opportunity to take tourists to NATIONAL PARKS in KENYA and TANZANIA as well.Lucy Wairimu Macharia

She later took a loan of kshs.95, 000 which helped her rent a shop in Kawangware shopping centre and also get her first stock from River Road Nairobi town.
